The GambianInspector- General of Police Mr Abdolie Sanyang has commended the Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu on the collaboration of the LNSA with the Gambian Police on security.

The Inspector-General of the Gambian Police force made this known when he had the LNSA Team in audience during the interactive session on community policing at their Headquaters in Banjul, the Gambia today.

According to the Gambian IG, " I was overwhelmed that LNSA is bridging the gap between Lagos and the Gambianthrough collaboration in the area of security" he said..

Mr Abdolie Sanyang reiterated that some unscrupulous elements from Nigeria have been infiltrating the country with human trafficking (prostitution) but that has been curbed with the support of NAPTIP, Custom, DSS and believes the new collaboration with the LNSA will further aid the achievements made so far.

Mr Abdolie in his address expressed the readiness of the Gambian police to work with the LNSA team from Lagos in learning and sharing security experience.

In his response the General Manager of the LNSA Prince Dr Ifalade fisn said the team embarked on a study tour of the Gambia in order to expand the frontiers of collaborative interactions with various Stakeholders nationally and internationally in order to deepen its capacity to deliver on its mandate to ensure the safety of our Communities and also share knowledge with the Gambian Police.

Speaking further, Oyekan explained that there were possible areas of collaboration in enhancing Community policing to further enhance effectiveness and efficiency in law enforcement between the two countries.

Oyekan further pointed out that the LNSA thrives on grassroot engagement and a seamless synergy with other safety and security Agencies in the State through the exchange of credible intelligence sourced from the communities.

He said the partnership with the Gambia was borne out of a recent meeting between some Gambian stakeholders and the LNSA team in Lagos.

Oyekan said, "Now we're here to meet with the IG of Police and other meaningful stakeholders to explore the opportunities in the similarities of our security potentials and challenges for the benefit of our people,"
He thanked Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unflinching support for the Agency and the safer Lagos vision which has ensured the Agency stay true to it's mandate.

The interactive session was equally attended by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Gambian senior police officers.
