The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency is set to collaborate with the Nigeria Ports Authority in providing security for lives and properties on the water ways.

This was disclosed by the General Manager of the Agency, Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan fisn following a courtesy call to the NPA on Tuesday, 26th September, 2023.

During the courtesy visit of the LNSA team to Nigeria Ports Authority, Lagos, Prince Oyekan said, "There is a need to spread our tentacles, for us to expand our operations in order to curb the menaces and insecurity on the waterways in Lagos State".

Ifalade expressed delight at the idea of a collaboration with the Nigeria Ports Authority, emphasising that the aim of the Agency is to provide and maintain the best in security delivery to residents and visitors to the State.

According to Oyekan, there is an ongoing agreement between the Agency and the Lagos State Inland waterways to monitor what goes on, on our waterways, adding that the agency's intention is to cover much of the waterways in Lagos and will appreciate it if the NPA supports with a good pilot ways on the water.

In his response, the Executive Director, engineering and technical services, Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar expressed delight at the Agency's pioneer work in community policing and commends Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu's efforts at making Lagos State safer and more secured.

According to Engr. Abba Umar it is the collective responsibility of the government and NPA to support LNSA to boost security in Lagos.

Engr. Abba while thanking delegation from the LNSA for the visit said a safer community will attract people and more businesses to the state.

The Courtesy visit was attended by the entire Management Team of the LNSA led by Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan and Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, The Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services, Engr. Abeeb Shafaru, the GM Lands and Asset Administration and Engr. Yunusa Ibrahim, GM- Engineering Services of the NPA.
