The Kogi State Trust Fund paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) on Wednesday, 15th May 2024 at the LNSA Headquarters, in a move aimed at fostering cooperation and sharing best practices in ensuring the safety and security of residents.
The visit, led by the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Trust Fund, Hon. AbdulRaheem Ozoehe Ohiare provided an opportunity for representatives of both organizations to exchange experiences and discuss ways to collaborate effectively in addressing common security challenges faced by their respective states.
During the meeting, the Executive Chairman highlighted the commendable efforts of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency in improving security in the state. He expressed his admiration for the agency's proactive approach in engaging with communities and enhancing the safety consciousness of residents.
"We are here today to learn from the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency's success in establishing community-driven security initiatives," said Hon. AbdulRaheem. "Kogi State is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its residents, and we believe that this visit will yield productive discussions and valuable insights that will help us in achieving our objectives."
The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince Dr. Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan fisn welcomed the delegation from Kogi State and expressed his willingness to share relevant strategies and policies that have contributed to a significant reduction in crime rates in Lagos.
"We are always open to collaboration and cooperation with other security agencies across the country," said Oyekan. "By sharing our experiences and practices, we can collectively enhance security measures and ensure the safety of all Nigerians."
Both parties engaged in fruitful discussions, focusing on community engagement, intelligence gathering, and the use of technology to support security operations. The Kogi State Trust Fund expressed its interest in adopting some of the effective methods employed by the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency and applying them to their security initiatives.
The visit concluded with a commitment from both organizations to maintain an ongoing collaboration and exchange of ideas. The Kogi State Trust Fund expressed gratitude to the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency for their warm reception and promised to implement the valuable knowledge gained during the visit.
Present at the courtesy visit were the management teams of both agencies and the Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund Dr. Abdulrazaq Balogun with his Admin. Director and ICT/CDO.
