The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood safety Agency has reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to the safer Lagos vision.

 

While speaking at a 4-Day Train the Trainers Workshop organized for Officers of the Surulere command of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan fisn appreciated the kind gesture of the Honourable Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who he described as a passionate Lagosian.

 

Oyekan admonished the officers to ensure an improvement in their manners, etiquette and respect for others in the cause of performing their statutory duties to reflect the new knowledge obtained from the training.

 

According to him, “this is an opportunity for our officers to compliment the efforts of the agency with what they are being taught here. We will always appreciate the challenge to get the better Neighbourhood we have hoped for”.

 

“At LNSA we don’t compromise and we don’t joke with standards in the security of Lagos State and that’s why we always put in our best, he said.”

 

Earlier Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila represented by Mr. Femi Ayinde Marshal said that the corps officers are expected to be the eyes and ears of the community for effective and efficient community policing. He also emphasized the role of the LNSC officers as the first responders to security threats in the community and encouraged the officers to have confidence in themselves while discharging their statutory responsibilities. 


The 4- Day Workshop was organized by the Lower Niger River Basin Authority in conjunction with Monnex Global Resources Limited and facilitated by Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker Federal House of Representatives.


The workshop tagged, “Training and Empowerment for Security Officers on Community Security and Intelligence Gathering in Surulere Lagos State” is aimed at ensuring the Officers are well trained and equipped to function maximally and combat  threats in their community.


Mr. Nasir Abdulquadri, one of the facilitators at the Workshop elaborated extensively the need for the Officers to be emotionally balanced while carrying out their duties, while reiterating that it is of important to be mindful of the effect of uncontrolled anger while relating with those they are meant to protect in the community.
