The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan has approved the organisation of Examinations to select Divisional Commanders and Local Government Corps Superintendents.

In a release, Prince Ifalade said the new approach is in line with the drive towards a new look Agency capable of meeting the ideals of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Agenda especially the 6th Pillar which deals with security.

He said the State Government is investing heavily on the safety and security of lives and properties and cannot allow such heavy investment to be frittered away through incompetence, especially at the bastion of Security at the grassroot – the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps.

Oyekan said selecting Commanding Officers for the various Units of the Agency through a transparent process will greatly improve the Agency’s capacity to deliver at the peak of its potentials and at the same time promote competence and professionalism in the Agency.

Ifalade said, “we are still experiencing various teething challenges despite been the pioneer Safety and Security Agency in Nigeria and that is why we need to create an Institution that depends on systems to operate. We want to reduce sentiments and mediocrity to the barest minimum and you will see this attitude in everything we do.”

The first selection process scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2021 will involve the seating Divisional Commanders and Officers on level 10 to ensure seniority and experience counts, while that of the Corps Superintendents will come up next week.
